On Friday May 8, 2009—the Friday before Mother’s Day—Salud’s CPSP (Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program) sponsored an education session for patients, in which presenters from Defensa de Mujeres/Women’s Crisis Support spoke on the subject of child abuse: how to recognize the signs of child abuse, what to do about it when one suspects or observes possible child abuse.

In addition, Salud’s Outreach Department’s Health Educator Myriam Scally presented on the subject of H1N1 (“swine flu”), a topic of great concern to the patients.

Approximately 75 patients attended this event, which was held at the Veterans Hall, across the street from Salud’s Main Clinic at 204 E. Beach St., Watsonville.
