Salud Para La Gente, SPLG, a network of health clinics, school-based health centers, and outreach sites in the tri-county region of Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito, kicked off an employee health campaign today. All employees at every site will receive a Team Salud t-shirt when they have an on-site, free health screening, then receive a healthy lunch provided by Erik’s Delicafe and Safeway, and then can participate in a 30-minute healthy walk through the neighborhoods surrounding our clinics.

Dora Rose Inda accepts her award from state Rep. Luis Alejo's staffer Monday at the Salud Para La Gente board meeting in Watsonville while other board members look on.
For the second time this month, Dr. Dori Rose Inda was honored for her effort to improve access to health care for seasonal and agricultural workers across the state.
Inda was also quick to share the credit.
A Watsonville resident, Inda is a member of the Salud Para La Gente board of directors, as well as the founder and executive director of the Watsonville Law Center. For the past decade, she and others have worked to bring health care to injured agriculture workers. The goal is to provide the same workers compensation benefits to low-wage workers: the treatment and recovery time that farm workers need so they can return to their jobs and suppor their families.
